Original SYN is a Sydney based costume maker. She grew up surrounded by her family who taught her how to hand stitch, knit, crochet and paint. She spent two years studying Fashion Design at the Fashion Design Studio at Ultimo TAFE then eventually fell in love with the art of costuming especially for theatre. Having spent a lot of her earlier years on the stage, she knew that this was the place she felt truly at home. From 2017 till present, Original SYN has studied a Bachelor of Fine arts majoring in Costume Making at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Kensington, NSW. Here she has honed her skills in flat patternamking, draping and art finishing. Currently she is working on NIDA’s Festival of Emerging Artists as Costume Supervisor for the production of The Cat.
